Here at FIT4MOM, we spend a lot of time exploring local parks at our stroller-based workouts year-round. And fall is the perfect time for getting outside, choosing movement and exploring with the whole family.
We are excited to add these three new Las Cruces parks—all located north of Highway 70—to our playground rotation this fall.

This small, quiet park located in a new neighborhood near Red Hawk Golf Club features two large grass spaces, a basketball court, a nice view of the Organ Mountains and a small playground area with a merry-go-round, slides, ropes and rocks to climb, and a modern "tire" swing. But perhaps one of the coolest hidden features is a Bilingual Book Walk spanning one end of the park, which features a path for kids to follow, filled with signs displaying an original story by illustrator and picture book author Eva Mastrogiulio from Argentina.
This city park, which opened earlier this year, features several swings, a low-profile toddler play area, a unique ground-level merry-go-round, and natural-looking elements on the playground equipment, like stairs resembling a tree trunk to climb. Plus, there is an expansive walking trail that loops beyond the park and back along Sonoma Ranch Boulevard. It's about .7 mile loop total, perfect for an evening bike ride or stroller walk. Note that parking is limited at this spot!
With a large open green space, wooden bike ramps, a large shaded picnic shelter, and both toddler and big kid playgrounds, this park has a little bit of something for everyone—not to mention a beautiful view of the Organ Mountains. Tucked in a new neighborhood in Metro Verde, the playground equipment at this new park (like a cute caterpillar for toddlers to climb and a large obstacle ropes course for older kids) is unique, exciting and unlike other parks we have seen in the region!
