Mom of the Month: October 2024

Each month, we're celebrating a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces for her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and dedication to FIT4MOM.

This month, we're spotlighting an awesome mama who just had her second baby! Meet our Mom of the Month for October: Erycka Sanchez

Tell us about who is in your family!

I am newly mom of two. I am married to Christopher Sanchez since 2020, but have been together since 2009. I have a daughter named Aria Willow who is almost 3 and a two month old son named Zakary Chase.

Where is your hometown?

Scottsdale, AZ but I’ve been living in Las Cruces, NM since 2012

How did you find FIT4MOM?

I found FIT4MOM on an Instagram ad.

What is/was your career?

I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Stay-At-Home-Mom with my two babies.

How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces, and what has it done for you?

I have been with FIT4MOM since July 2023. FIT4MOM has been an important part of my motherhood journey. My daughter and I have been able to socialize and create beautiful friendships. I have loved being able to move my body and become stronger with each class. I am so grateful for this community that pushes me and validated my experience of being a mom.

What is your favorite class exercise?

Anything at Stroller Barre

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

The biggest surprise about motherhood is how hard but rewarding it is. Watching my children grow each day is such a treat even on the days I want to tear my hair out.

What are three of your favorite things?

I love horror movies, chips, and everything Disney!

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

I was worried about how Aria would be with a new baby in the home. However, Aria has proven me wrong with my worry. She loves her brother with her whole heart. I am proud of her compassion and love she shows to Zaky. In the morning, she wants to hug and kiss him and it melts my heart.

What advice would you give to a new mother?

The advice I would give a new mom is it takes a village; not to raise a child but to support a mom. Moms need support and it’s okay to ask for help.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I love the FIT4MOM community and so honored to be in the presence of these amazing mamas!

We are so lucky to have Erycka in our village. It wouldn't be the same without her and her kiddos!
