Mom of the Month: May 2025

Each month, we're celebrating a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces for her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and dedication to FIT4MOM.

This month, we're spotlighting an amazing mom and our a new Stroller Strides instructor! Meet our Mom of the Month for May: Hailey Cummings

Tell us about who is in your family!

My little family means everything to me—just me, my husband, and our 15-month-old son, KJ.

Where is your hometown?

El Paso, TX

How did you find FIT4MOM?

I found FIT4MOM through Instagram!

What is/was your career?

I graduated from NMSU with my Bachelor’s of Kinesiology December 2024, being a FIT4MOM instructor is my first career since graduation!

How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces, and what has it done for you?

I’ve been a FIT4MOM member for 9 months, and it has truly been life-changing. It connected me with an amazing community of inspiring women, and gave me the opportunity to use my degree and become an instructor! One of the biggest blessings is that I get to bring my baby to work with me—being able to pour into both my passion and my family at the same time is something I’m so grateful for.

What is your favorite class? And your favorite exercise move?

Strides 360! Any leg or glute move I am a sucker for!

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

I knew toddlers go through a phase where they need to build up their immunity, but I had no idea just how intense sick season could be with little ones around. It feels like the colds just keep coming. I use to never get sick!

What are three of your favorite things?

My three favorite things are the outdoors, bed rotting, and a clean house… interesting combination, I know!

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

I’m so proud of how friendly KJ has become. We’ve worked hard to ease his social anxiety and help him feel comfortable seeking connections beyond just mama. Now, he’ll wave at anyone—even birds—and he loves playing with kids of all ages. It’s been such a joy to watch him grow into this sweet, social little guy.

What advice would you give to a new mother?

You do you, girl! If you're someone who thrives on routine—like I do—just know it’s totally okay if it takes time to find your rhythm. I wasn’t able to really create one for my son until he was about a year old. And please, be gentle with your body. Pregnancy is such a blessing, even though it comes with its highs and lows. Try not to treat it like a punishment. If you can, learn to love the changes—your body is doing something incredible.

We are so lucky to have Hailey in our village. It wouldn't be the same without her and KJ!
