Mom of the Month: July 2023

Each month, we are celebrating a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces for her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and dedication to FIT4MOM.

This month, we are spotlighting our brand new Stroller Strides instructor! Meet our Mom of the Month for July: Kathryn Searls

My husband, Powell, my son Tristan (3 years old), my daughter Saylor (18 months old), and myself

I’ll claim El Paso, TX as my hometown

How did you find FIT4MOM?

I randomly saw the group working out at Young Park last summer, asked about it, tried a free class, and now here I am!

What is/was your career?

I’ve had a lot of careers. I trained race horses out of college, then became a dog/cat groomer with my own grooming business here in Las Cruces, then became a store manager for Tractor Supply Company before having my kids and deciding to start the best career of all, stay at home mom!

How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces, and what has it done for you?

I joined last fall after finishing up some travel, and it has completely revamped my life!

What is your favorite class exercise?

I love ab exercises and any exercise with mini bands

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

The constant change. Everyday your kids are learning, growing, loving, and developing.

What are three of your favorite things?

Horses, chocolate, and swimming

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

Any moment when my kids hug me or kiss me without warning

What advice would you give to a new mother?

Be confident that what you feel and do is exactly what you should be doing! And you are never alone!

Anything else you'd like to add?

I am so blessed and thankful that I joined this group of amazing women! I love every workout and every interaction, and my children have gotten to enjoy it all with me! I am so excited to become an instructor and help each mama through this incredible journey of motherhood!

We are so lucky to have Kathryn in our village. It wouldn't be the same without her and her kiddos!
