Each month, we're celebrating a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces for her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and dedication to FIT4MOM.
This month, we're spotlighting an amazing mom who has been part of our village for almost two years! Meet our Mom of the Month for January: Stevie Halladay
Tell us about who is in your family!
Derek and Harlow Halladay
Where is your hometown?
Farmington, NM
How did you find FIT4MOM?
Best friend Jennifer Hoyt!
What is/was your career?
I am a stay-at-home mom, before that I worked different jobs in customer service
How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM Las Cruces, and what has it done for you?
I have been a member for almost two years. FIT4MOM has helped me to find an amazing community of moms where I have created amazing friendships and so has Harlow. It was the perfect thing for me to get back to moving my body postpartum in whatever way I felt comfortable. It is a judgment free zone where you can navigate motherhood with moms who have been there already or are in the same stage you are in. It’s truly the best thing!
What is your favorite class? And your favorite exercise move?
I like Stroller Strides the best and I enjoy anything upper body related!
What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
A lot of things, I feel like you can never really understand motherhood until you are in it. If I had to pick one thing I would say how lonely and isolating it can be, but again that’s why FIT4MOM was such an amazing thing!
What are three of your favorite things?
Disney, trash TV, and my family
What is your proudest mommy moment so far?
Harlow has learned to compliment and it is so sweet when she does it to her friends/family. She also has all our affirmations memorized that we do each night.
What advice would you give to a new mother?
It’s okay to just survive sometimes, you don’t always have to thrive. Take the small wins.
Anything else you'd like to add?
FIT4MOM is truly so wonderful and I will always be grateful for the community and friends I have gained from it.
We are so lucky to have Stevie in our village. It wouldn't be the same without her and Harlow!
